Mission and Purpose

The Community Actors' Student Theatre (CAST), Inc. is a non-profit organization established to provide Union County, New Jersey communities with a summer music theatre program. The program (formerly known as The Summer Regional Players, Inc.) relies on the sales of tickets and playbill advertising, on fundraising activities and on the generosity and benevolence of the local business community.

While the program enables young people to display and use their talents and gifts, it also provides them a source of instruction in the art of music theatre: acting, vocal music, dancing, set construction, costuming, and various other production skills. CAST encourages alumni to return and help in this process either on stage or off.

CAST is directed by a volunteer board of trustees who are dedicated to providing opportunities for young people to learn, perform and entertain and in the process the learn something else: to be more responsible and self-confident, to work together toward a common goal, and to have a good time.
